You know when you have one of those days where you are trying desperately to get your mind off something? Well on those anixous days, I usually do some online window shopping for things that are so out of my current budget…. yep that day is today! I came accross this YSL bag that I adore. I tend to go straight to black for my large everyday handbag, but today I am just loving this red bag. It could stand out from your everyday business suit, but also dress up your casual saturday boyfriend jean attire.

Sale Sale Sale
J.Crew is running a 30% off sale in stores and online (code THEBEST) through Sunday and lets face it, I never buy anything there until they run a sale.
Now go forth and pick out some delicious swimsuits, like this mini-pineapple bikini and this beautiful patio cover-up I’ve been drooling over for some time. As you can see, I have the beach on my mind with my San Diego trip fast approaching.

Granny Moose’s Buttermilk Pancakes
Usually after 2 weeks of begging, I make my Great Grandmother’s pancakes for my boyfriend Jason. I have pretty much ruined box pancakes for him, like my mother did for me. Granny Moose made her pancakes from scratch, without a written recipe, or measuring cups. I have not mastered the skill of eye balling quite yet, but lucky for me Nanny (my Grandmother) watched her, and wrote down the recipe for all the generations to enjoy. This has to be my favorite family recipe. The only change I make, is adding a little vanilla from time to time. I did pair the pancakes with some delicious OJ in my Daddy’s Grandparent’s pitcher found in their house in Decatur, Texas. It is always nice to have a little piece of Texas in my small kitchen in Jersey.
Yields 8-10 medium to large pancakes.
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 cups cornmeal
3 cups buttermilk
3 tbsp. melted butter
1 egg
Mix all dry ingredients first, then add buttermilk, melted butter, and the egg last.
Pour batter on griddle or skillet. Flip after bubbles appear. Cook until golden brown.
